How the protocol got here
Where it started
The ARP started in clinical practice with OCD, anxiety disorders, and PTSD.
What kept showing up
Across the span of the work, from SPMI to SUD, across every setting, a consistent group emerged: clients who did not respond to top-down therapies or medications. The people who needed the most support were the ones being failed the most often.
Where it is now
A preregistered Phase IIa proof-of-concept trial of the protocol has been designed and has not begun. ARP research began as an effort to find a path for that group, and Revago is the platform that makes it deliverable at scale.

I'm Marisa Cherry, LCSW.
Before I was a therapist I was the client nobody could figure out. Undiagnosed ADHD the whole way through school. Labeled too much, not enough, lazy. Hospitalized at 13, and four more times before 18. Then substance use. Then sobriety. Then college, an MSW, and a license.
I spent ten years inside the mental health system: middle schools, psychiatric hospitals, day programs, crisis stabilization, addiction treatment. In every setting I kept meeting the same person. Smart. Motivated. Doing the work. Not getting better. I couldn't stand not knowing why.
I don't learn in straight lines. My brain does webs. What that's good for is seeing the structure underneath things, and the structure I kept seeing was this: we hand skills to bodies that aren't in range to use them, and nobody is measuring the body part.
So I built the instrument. A fully scripted protocol, standardized measurement, a record the clinician and client both watch, and fidelity scoring, so nobody is improvising alone with their hardest cases.
The part I care most about
I am the population I built this for. Lived experience is a hypothesis, not evidence. The registered trial exists to check me, and it publishes whichever way it falls.
